Parkdean Resorts Ocean Edge Holiday Park Lancashire Photos

So, there I was, scrolling through my Instagram feed, when a photo of a stunning sunset over the Irish Sea popped up. "Lancashire, eh?" I thought, "Never been. Might be time to change that." And that's how I found myself at Parkdean Resorts Ocean Edge Holiday Park, ready to see what all the fuss was about.

First Impressions

Pulling up to the park, I was greeted by a sea of caravans and motorhomes, all neatly tucked into their pitches. It was like a little city of holidaymakers, each one ready to soak up the Lancashire sun. I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical. I mean, I'm more of a 'glamping' kinda gal, you know? But hey, I was here now, so let's dive in.

Check-in was a breeze, and before I knew it, I was standing in my very own caravan, complete with all the mod cons. It was like a little home away from home, and I could see how this could be a winner for families. There was even a TV, which, let's face it, is a must when you're on holiday with kids. Or, you know, when you just fancy a lazy evening in.

Exploring the Park

Now, I know what you're thinking. "What's there to do on a caravan park?" Well, let me tell you, Parkdean Resorts Ocean Edge has more going on than a busy city centre on a Saturday night.

First up, the pool. Oh, the pool. It was like something out of a 5-star resort, with a slide that would make any kid (or big kid, ahem) squeal with delight. I spent hours in there, and I'm not even ashamed to admit it.

But if you're more of an outdoor type, there's plenty to keep you busy too. From adventure playgrounds to a nine-hole golf course, you could be forgiven for never leaving the park. And if you fancy a bit of retail therapy, there's even a shop on site. Yes, you heard it here first, folks. You can buy ice cream and souvenirs without even leaving the park. I know, I know, it's like Christmas came early.

Food Glorious Food

Now, I don't know about you, but I can't survive on caravan park food alone. Luckily, Ocean Edge has a couple of places to eat that'll make your taste buds dance. The Mash and Barrel pub was a particular favourite of mine. They do a mean burger, and the atmosphere is just what you want from a holiday park pub. Lively, friendly, and with a view of the sea to boot.

But if you're after something a bit more... refined, there's the Coast Restaurant. It's got a bit of a fancy feel, with a menu that'll make your mouth water. I had the scampi, and it was so good, I'm still dreaming about it now.

Lancashire's Hidden Gems

But it's not all about the park, is it? No, no, no. You've got to get out and explore the beautiful county of Lancashire. Now, I'm not going to lie, I was a bit worried about what I'd find. I mean, it's not exactly the Mediterranean, is it? But I was pleasantly surprised.

Blackpool, for one, is a must-visit. Yes, it's a bit tacky, but it's also a bit of fun. And who doesn't love a good old-fashioned seaside town? Plus, the Pleasure Beach is a must for any thrill-seeker. I rode the Big One, and I'm not ashamed to say I screamed like a little girl.

But if you're after something a bit more... cultural, there's Lancaster. It's got a castle, a cathedral, and a beautiful quayside. It's like stepping back in time, and it's well worth a visit.

Would I Go Back?

So, would I go back to Parkdean Resorts Ocean Edge? You bet I would. It's the perfect base for exploring Lancashire, and it's got enough going on to keep you busy for a week or more. Plus, it's got that certain something that makes you feel like you're on holiday. You know what I mean? That feeling of freedom, of being away from it all. And for that, I'll take a caravan park any day.

So, if you're thinking of a holiday in Lancashire, give Ocean Edge a go. You might just be surprised. And who knows, you might even see me there. I'll be the one on the slide, screaming with delight. Again.
